Mavins Record signee and incredibly gifted Nigerian musician, Rema has enthralled his fans and music enthusiasts with a brand-new exhilarating tune titled “Charm.”
Rema is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He was born Divine Ikubor on May 1, 2000, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Rema grew up in a Christian family and began making music at a young age.
In 2018, Rema was discovered by D’Prince, a Nigerian singer and record producer who is also the younger brother of Don Jazzy, the CEO of Mavin Records. D’Prince saw Rema’s potential and signed him to Mavin Records in a record deal worth millions of naira.
Rema released his debut single, “Iron Man,” in 2019, which became an instant hit in Nigeria and beyond. The song was included in his eponymous debut EP, which was released in March 2019. The EP also contained other hit songs such as “Dumebi” and “Corny,” which further cemented Rema’s place in the Nigerian music scene.
Rema continued to release hit singles such as “Lady,” “Bad Commando,” and “Beamer (Bad Boys)” in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, he released his second EP, “Bad Commando,” which received critical acclaim and showcased his versatility as an artist.
Rema has won several awards for his music, including the Headies Award for Next Rated in 2019 and the Soundcity MVP Award for Best New MVP in 2020. He has also been nominated for several other awards, including the BET Awards and the MTV Africa Music Awards.
Despite his young age, Rema has become one of the most popular and successful artists in Nigeria and Africa, and he continues to grow in popularity with each release.
In 2019, he agreed to a record deal with Mavin Records‘ subsidiary Jonzing World.
Rema was born in Benin City, in the Edo state. Rema, who was raised in a Christian household, began rapping and singing while still in high school. He completed his primary and secondary school at Edo State.
The “Dumebi” singer was nominated for the award event in Dallas, Texas in the categories of “Best Newcomer,” “AFRIMMA Video of The Year,” and “Song of The Year.”
Additionally, his earlier releases, “Holiday” and “Reason you,” are followed by this new song.
Because of the plethora of talents rising from the streets, we’ve witnessed a lot of breakthroughs for most of the new musicians that join the market using freestyle videos to demonstrate what they’ve got in store for us.
Following previously released tracks, the well-enchanted song is the most recent entrance this year.
I’m hoping that the success of this album will help the Afro-classic crooner achieve greatness.
